Psychosis is a condition that can be very stressful for the person who has it, and for their relatives, family
and friends. This guide has been written to help relatives, carers and friends to take care of their own
needs, as well as supporting their relative or friend.
In this booklet you will find clearly described ways of dealing with stress that has been shown to help people.
There are also techniques to manage psychosis which are proven to be effective. You can use the methods
explained here by yourself or with help from a friend, therapist or trained mental health worker.
